Health Benefits

Not only are strawberries one of the most sweet and delicious fruits but they are also extremely good for your health. These members of the rose family protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure and defend against cancer. Packed with fiber, vitamins and high levels of antioxidants strawberries are a fat-free, sodium-free and cholesterol-free food. They are also a great source of potassium and vitamin C. A one-cup serving size of strawberries has only 46 calories

But it’s not only all of the health benefits that make our customers love and look forward to strawberry season each year. There are so many delicious things each family makes each year with our strawberries.

How to Care For Fresh Strawberries

Keep your berries cool and take them inside immediately to protect them from heat and sunlight. Handle them gently to avoid bruising, and only rinse them in cold water right before eating. Do not soak the berries, and leave the caps on until after rinsing, as this helps them stay firm.

Refrigerate fresh strawberries instead of leaving them at room temperature. Store them in shallow containers, covered, and limit the layers to one or two. For the best flavor, let the strawberries come to room temperature before serving.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/4″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_style” images=”1368,1369,442,1975,1976″ onclick=”link_no”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color=”#d3d3d3″ background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][testimonial_slider style=”default” star_rating_color=”extra-color-1″][testimonial image=”813″ star_rating=”100%” title=”Testimonial” id=”1748876241285-6″ tab_id=”1748876241285-5″ name=”Sarah Kendall” subtitle=”Best Tasting Fruit!!” quote=”I could never get my kids to eat fruits or veggies.
